The Shared Thread Psychotherapy · A space for you

There’s more to your story
than any one moment.

Sometimes what we’re feeling in the present is connected to more than what’s happening right now. The patterns we fall into, the relationships that affect us, and the ways we’ve learned to cope all have a story. Therapy can be a place to understand that story and begin to see yourself with a little more clarity and compassion.

A shared belief.
Individual stories.

The different parts of our lives are rarely as separate as they seem.

We’re shaped by the people we’ve known, the relationships we’ve had, and the experiences we’ve moved through. Over time, these can influence how we relate to others, respond to difficult moments, protect ourselves, and make sense of what we feel. Sometimes the same patterns appear in different parts of our lives, even when the connection isn’t immediately obvious.

But our stories don’t exist entirely on their own either. While each person brings something uniquely theirs, many of the things woven through our experiences are deeply human—the need for connection and belonging, the ways we protect ourselves from hurt, the uncertainty that comes with change, and the desire to feel understood.

That’s the idea behind The Shared Thread: the connections that run through our own stories, and the parts of being human that connect us to one another.

Therapy gives us space to notice those connections, understand what continues to shape the present, and make room for something different.

Making sense of the past matters, but so does finding what helps you move through life today.

02Meet your therapist

Hi, I’m Nayera.

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) providing virtual psychotherapy to teens and adults across Ontario.

I want therapy to feel like a space where you don't have to arrive with the right words or already know what you want to change. We can start with what's been on your mind and take the time to understand it together.

My style is warm, collaborative, and conversational. I'll listen closely, ask questions, offer reflections, and sometimes gently challenge you when it feels useful. I draw primarily from psychodynamic therapy, alongside Emotion-Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, depending on what fits you and the work we're doing.

I also hold a Graduate Certificate in Mental Health and Addictions from Durham College, which supports my work with people who want to explore their relationship with substances without assumptions or judgment.

03Areas of support

When things feel
hard to hold alone.

You don’t need a clear label or a crisis to reach out. Sometimes it’s enough to know that something isn’t feeling quite right.

01

Anxiety & Overthinking

When worry, overthinking, or unease takes up too much space, therapy can help you understand what’s keeping it going and find ways to feel a little less caught up in it.

02

Relationships & Repeating Patterns

If you find yourself caught in familiar dynamics or wondering why certain relationship patterns keep repeating, we can explore what’s happening and what you might want to do differently.

03

Self-Worth & Boundaries

If self-criticism, people-pleasing, or difficulty knowing what you need keeps getting in the way, therapy can be a place to explore your relationship with yourself and others.

04

Life Transitions & Change

Changes in work, family, identity, or direction can bring uncertainty and mixed feelings. Therapy offers room to navigate what’s changing and what this period means for you.

05

Feeling Stuck or Disconnected

Sometimes things feel flat, distant, or difficult to move through, even when it’s hard to explain why. We can start by getting curious about what might be underneath that feeling.

06

Substance Use & Addictions

If you’re questioning your substance use or its place in your life, you can talk openly without pressure to arrive with a label or a specific goal.

Our sessions are shaped around you—not a one-size-fits-all plan.
